VLC Media Player is another great media software to use. There are some media files that cannot be opened by Windows Media Player. For example, the .ogg and .3gp files. Currently, I'm using this software as my default player for playing media files.

I prefer to use a codec pack and use Media Player Classic. Seems to work for everything quite well.
Oh really..I used a codec pack too..maybe next time I'll posting about a software that can install a missing codec into our PC..:)
There is such a software, but I haven't tried it:

I use the following codec pack. It includes everything, even real player and quicktime stuff (so you don't need their software):

p.s. The latest version of this removed quicktime, but an older version has it.
